What your grandma never told you

( who would know this was the secrect ingredient in grandmas cake all those years?)

"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.......

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines....

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ... we were all given the one Spirit to drink.....

If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of smell be?" (1 Corinthians 12: 4, 11, 12,15)

So yep I just have a quick word tonight. Every single ingredient in a meal counts. Every ounce of love you put in a meal plays such an important role. What makes a great chef? A Chef who is fearless in the kitchen. To make love on a plate- letting new flavors abound and abide together savory sweet oh what a treat- Harmony- Like My cantaloupe, feta, arugula, Sweet vadalia onion, walnut, toasted pumpkin seed, prosciutto, dried cranberry, with a fig balsamic vinaigrette..... now this was some serious harmony in the bowl let me tell you this is for sure! Each and every ingredient played such a divine roll in my salad with its select flavor, texture, temperature, and even its size i shaped into. Oh i am craving another bowl before i hit my pillow!

What makes our daddy proud in heaven? When we can fearlessly speak the secret of the good news without fear ( Ephesians 6:19) When we can take what god has given us and let him use it in us the way HE wants. Letting him releases more of this gift inside of us, responding to the call, the roll he is "unrollin" in us Also when we let all of the parts move together and get along. (The feta cant say to the cantaloupe-- I DONT NEED YOU----- uh hello, ... who wants a salad with like just cheese? ok maybe I am a bit cheesy myself - but really without the cantaloupe, even the nutty arugula the harmony in this masters piece of a salad just wont work!! everything plays such an extravagant roll to deliver a meaty mighty salad on a hotts summers night! )

Sometimes it really is the most important parts are the ones we try to hide... like in say a summers chocolate cake.( Ever had a chocolate zucchini cake? bet you had no clue it was grandmas way of getting rid of the 30lb courgette she happened to grow uh like last summer and still making damm chocolate cakes for some reason eh?... man i tell ya ever grown those things? dont get me wrong the flowers are real treasures to work with - but they are contagious- and can really grow "out of hand" and like i am talking sized up to be a two hand double hitter use the damm thing as a baseball Bat... zucchini are dangerous keep your eye on them in the garden. THEY BLOW UP! :) )

"The parts of the body we think are less deserving are the parts to which we give the most honor. We give special respect to the parts we want to hide......" ( I Corinthians 12:23)

Dont ever under estimate what God can deliver thru you!! not just in the kitchen and your ingredient list- but with the gift of this faith he has released in you! Take on this life of Holyness and "we must not deny the power we have living in us ( 2 timothy 3:5) What god will use for the good in us- yes to not just create magnificent meals- but he has called us to be bold no matter what roll we play or where we are called to play it! Rice and beans or meat and potatoes chicken and rice those are some solid backbones who really do require some vegetables to complement ones meal It is a mighty gift- this gift of faith- for
"faith without works is dead" (James 2:26)--

Taste buds dont make them into waste buds--- come on live Fearless.... Go on now- try mixin and mashing a new culinary concoxion....

ok Fearless today would be the fact that my old man puts hott sauce on everything- i say fearless because when i am in the kitchen i shout and scream at him!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOU have just violated my beautiful meal dad! Ya i know can you believe it- Despite the fact he demolishes many of the creations before he even sets a mound in his mouth- yes. Hott diggity. Hot Sauce. We dont even keep salt and pepper on the table, but hot sauce remains on the table. Yeah my dad just pours hott sauce on stuff. I swear i think he puts it in his coffee, maybe in his water bottle on his bike too. What is with some men? Ha i think its pretty funny. ha imagine i pulled a prank and replaced it with Birdseye sauce.... uh oh steam coming out of ears....volcano watch out now! :)

Ok well thats some love for ya. We all have a gift from the same spirit- and this is exciting you know. Our life is a free gift, but also this heaven scent god gifts from the holy spirit . Its a gift god is not going to take it away- God is not an Indian giver..... but he wants us to unlock the gift, use it, develop it, enable it to make some serious harmony with the body he has placed us in! Just as them ingredients in a meal all have flavor and texture and such select character to play- Harmony in a meal Sometimes what we feel the least important God will use to be the kick start to someones heart! ( Even the leftovers sometimes we sneak in - Hearty pasta sauce can make into a great chili for some hot diggity chili willy dogs the next day you know!? oh baby!.. lets go out to the ball game.....)

We all have important rolls to play. So lets get it on. Fearlessly for how sweet this gift is. We must excercise it!
And yes i know maybe you are saying, "cyd: I know my part and roll, I am on the receiving end. I will use my mouth to eat the food you will deliver on a plate!"..... ha ha you see thats ok - i would not cook unless i knew i had hungry hearts to gobble it up!- get it?! we all do have a very important part to play. You see now then You must also be very great at washing them dishes too! :) hehehe....
