I was going to keep it a surprise but you know after riding the provincial Ontario Cup Mountain bike Course today i am pretty stoked and think i might still have it in me- My popsies and I had a "mountain bike date" up at Kelso escarpment this afternoon annnnnd Guess who smoked him???.....uh ok not going to lie--- only till he got a flat. (My dad is 62 and he still shredds hard every race! #1 Ontario for over 60! way to go old man)


Ya so anywho, It felt so incredible to just giver and kill it today on the mountain bike! ALRIGHT...i forgot how much CLIMBING stinks! but climbing like all painful situations and circumstances CAME TO PASS AND NOT STAY!!! The single track is SO SO fast there!! oh sweet Jesus feels so good and once you find your "inner rhythm" and collaborate that with the rhythm on the race course-- baby, this is what can BLOW your mind with this surpassing power - multitude of strength we have living inside of us-- to actually realize victory in the worlds perspective is actually AFTER US!!! yes victory is after us.. the world wants what we already have! "For greater is he that is IN ME then who is in the world!"(1 john 4:4) - to God be the Glory!!! THE SAME POWER THAT CONQUERED THE GRAVE LIVES IN US!!! ITS ALL about the Rhythm- stay acoustic now - with hearing the right inside voices.. make the right choices...!!!In lifes big picture this is Getting In Rhythm with the race God has marked out for us!

ABOUT THYME

Uh YA.... ITS ABOUT thyme.....
oh and im late.. im late..im late.. for a very important date!....


I almost did not have time- but god gave me this precious fresh thyme that's been growing on my window pane here..... so now i have time to just share a few pictures of the components of my time- and thyme efficient meal tonight! all had a bit of precious thyme involved its sometimes not how much time you have but how well you use this time this is why i am going to be short and sweet with sharing the delicacy of this fragrant beautiful herb THYME.

We all have time. So grab some thyme and have a good time! With GOD on our side, remember we always have time- God is never late.. but always ON TIME! HE OWNS the time!

So i walked into Mr. Principals office this morning for and interview at an Oakville private school, and i walked right into one of these MASSIVE honkers he has Pounded up on his wall.... uhhh OK!!!... like Sir, what exactly is this hard blow hole tube??? and please tell me you do not play this for the kids discipline hour....
It was pretty funny... I guess you maybe had to be there with me. Lets just say it was a great way to start off an interview to be a kids lunch supervisor at a private school.....

I found out it was an australian digeridoo. ok and i can not say this word with out smirking.

Really cool Himalayan salt boards!!! These are so rad! I want one for my kitchen!



You know those Bright orange salt lamp things? When i lived in Vancouver at a wild surfers pad i seriously thought he was Uh crazy like he had so many of these funky bright orange rock lights i questioned why all of the time... but really they are SALT lamps These are so rad cause they really do bring you a sense of you are closer to the ocean! The bowls are called "abundance" rock salt lights.... uh Thank you god-- this IS LIKE what we are called to be ....amen

Inside Voices, make the right choices

So I am trying to get a hold of my old coach that has been on my heart this past little while as I know he is now living in Australia, well Tasmania-- with his beautiful Wife Tara as he, Mr Neil Ross Is the strength and conditioning coach for the mountain bike team Australia . Cool eh? He was the coach that found me when i was 14- and raised me up to be a champion Cyclist and Mountain biker three times running for Canada ( Oh i also baked his wedding cake and i am trying to find this darn picture of it!)

My first championship win was probably the most memorable. And that's what has given me a word to write about today and about hearing and activating that Still small voice we hear in our heads- that we really CAN DO ALL THINGS thru Christ who gives us strength!!( Philippians 4:13) Its an "Inside" job- and sometimes its simply asking god to renew our minds in his Power for the right dimension of the direction he has on our lives.

In road cycling You will notice that there is alot about "weight" issues. You know like how heavy your bike is.. parts, components, frame ect. In the event of a time trial- I tell you EVERY single gram counts. Its all about aerodynamics... disk wheels and and aero helmet! ( the picture i have above is a championship when i did not have a aero helmet... uh yeah.. ok laugh... and it is DUCKED taped ok... lol but it really did help... ) Yes everything counts from booties on your shoes to a full on skin suit. Hot. Yes, i know.... i tell ya it hurts when you come second place by just a mill second in a time trial!! As a professional athlete. EVERYTHING counts and when your fully committed to something- you will do whatever it takes to get where we see ourselves on top of the podium shouting for glory...
Today I shout for gods glory on a day to day basis. But i have this competitive athlete blue chip living in me as that backbone i have now turned over to Christ where i live to give god the glory in all that I do. For not man i boast in, but only My God- don't get me wrong i LOVE sports and athletes- but for me- My passion is to encourage others to activate this power that is living and active in us- God wants to give us THAT- AND more then just victory in a stupid meaningless sports game- we just need to awkknowledge this- FOR the LOVE- For his divine purpose and call on our lives, heaven on earth and advancing the kingdom of GOD.

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. "( 1 Corinthians 9:24-25)

This reminds me of the god we serve and the divine detail he has on our lives. How he places and orchestrates us together so swiftly at times- FOR HIS WILL to unfold and deliver what HE wants thru us.... Just as We try to control our lives- even the most tiny details to the very last gram on a bike. Its gods voice that has the final call. Its his call on our lives that we activate this love and appropriate this LOVE in all that we do- There is way more POWER in this LOVE then the way the world lusts for false victory. The "feel good" victory.

"Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow." (colossi ans 2:18-19)


In road cycling you will notice many of the cyclists wear headsets when they are in the echelon. You know like ear pieces - so not just other team mates, but your followup car will keep you updated with the team tactics set as a goal plan for the race - who makes the breaks- who is going to attack- who is pacing ect- where everyone is situated in the pack... its pretty detailed and some serious stuff how a stage in a bike race can unfold- its dimensional and so so miraculous how this communication channeling in the alps can surpass any slow poke in a race.

My coach and I were so set that I was able to Win for Canada- however sometimes when the going gets going.. we lack in showing..... We did not want to take any chances. So what we did- was i wore a headset, yes in my time trial- in secret- cause not too many people do this - where it was just my coaches voice in my ear as he was watching in a follow up car. Neil knew i needed this kind of mental support- becuase sometimes, when we our muscles get tired- then we let our minds get tired and can throw our hands up and say... meh, next time - but Neil knew i had a strong heart ( that's where the power is) And i did not come out to be second. anyways, The entire time trial- I could not give up cause i had this secret voice in my ear pacing me from a follow up car-- saying "come on cyd! 5 k to go, 4 k , 3 k... ect.. power- synchronization, go deeper in the hoods.. power POWER POWER... BREATH..." yes again some pretty serious stuff. But guess what- I won! it really was that inside voice That just wouldnt let me give up until the victory was mine.

I use this as when we hear the right voices- we make the right choices. Its hearing that right voice we have in our heads - and ACTIVATING it thru our faith in God believing that ALL things are possible and nothing is too big for our God to deliver thru us!- God says TAKE HEART! Be strong and courageous- I will never mislead or forsake you!( Joshua 1:5) Believing that if we give ALL the glory to him- he will let us ALWAYS come out victory after victory on top of the world! This is the truth!

"We are more then conquerors in him!! Romans (8:37)- Because Greater is he that is in me then who is in the world!!! (1 john 4:4)

Ok anyways I just wanted to encourage you that god IS a god of divine detail in the master crafter he is of our lives he is calling us into. Sometimes the voices may be telling us opposite what we want- But its not about us anyways! Its about him and letting him rise up his army of conquerors here his kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Its the discipline thing i guess... the uh hard part- when the heat could be turned up- pressure is on- But that right voice is still there.... Turn it up, step out of the foggy noise of the world so you may hear gods Sound of victory shout your name!

"From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire." Deuteronomy 4:36

Good Lordy MONDAY MORNING GLORY

Breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day. One of my favorite things to do is to wake up early before everyone else is up- its so peaceful and tame... I love to warm up the kitchen and house with a beautiful fragrant smell of fresh baked muffins! I was blessed this morning to have VERY special guest spend the afternoon with me yesterday and also sleepover--- Chef, MR Brandon Olson himself.... Oh goodie i love to sweeten up his heart as much as i can when i get to see him. He is such a treasure in my life. i was so excited just to get up early and bake him a hearty surprise before i got him off to Toronto!
What better a way to start of a Glorious Monday then with some Good Lordy Morning Glory Muffins!
I am going to share with you the recipe to my beauties here!


Good LORDY MORNING Glory MUFFINS!

2 cups grated carrot
1/2c apple diced
1/2 cup raisins ( hunky stuff)
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup dates

1cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup canola oil (Sloppy Stuff)
3 eggs
1/2 cup yogurt
2 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2cup all bran
2tsp Baking powder
1tsp Cinnamon ( Dry stuff)
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt

Combine the carrots, apple raisins nuts , coconut, spices together. Then Combine the wet and sloppy ingredients together- eggs, yogurt, oil, vanilla, sugar in another bowl. Then ya gotta combine all the dry ingredients, flour, all bran, salt soda-- THEN Introduce the hunky stuff ( carrots, raisins, nutts, coconut, dates) to the softy sweet stuff eggs/oil and then gently toss and blend in the flour. The batter should be nice and moist. This is a beautiful batter. Lots of love in here with the assortment of Glorious vibrant ingredients combined for some hunky chunky whole hearted muffys.

Spoon into muffin cups and bake at 350 for about 25-30 minutes- test when a toothpick comes out dry and should have some nice golden shine to them tops!

Makes 12 Big Muffys
